Job summary

Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC is launching its first Urgent Care in July 2027. We are hiring a Clinical Manager to oversee clinical operations at our new site in Northeast Washington, DC.

The role requires BSN, 5 years nursing experience including pediatric exposure, and leadership responsibility. The manager will lead nursing practice, safety, and communication while coordinating with departments to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• 5 years of Nursing experience with charge nurse exposure in a similar setting.
• Minimum 1 year pediatric experience in a comparable setting.
• Minimum 1 year of demonstrated nursing leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Participate in/support Shared Leadership.
• Contribute to CNMC's Magnet Journey.
• Ensure nursing is based on best-practice evidence.
• Support the Nursing Division's Performance Improvement process.
• Participate in community activities.
• Function as a resource in the charge nurse role for all patient-care aspects.
• Continuously evaluate patient care delivered to all patients and families.
• Maintain knowledge and responsibility for patients on the unit.
• Assume direct patient care when needed to meet patient-care needs.
• Utilize therapeutic communication with patients and families.
• Collaborate with staff and health-care team to improve patient outcomes.
• Lead hospital/division projects or committees.
• Complete performance evaluations for assigned staff in a timely manner.
