Job summary

The Ultrasound Technologist I at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with departmental policies and physician orders to support patient diagnosis and treatment.

This role requires completing SPI examination by hire and RDMS or RVT certification within six months of employment. Minimum education includes a high school diploma; experience with medical terminology is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• SPI Examination must be passed at the time of hire.
• Some administrative support experience preferred.
• Experience with medical terminology preferred.
• RDMS or RVT certification within six months of employment.
• Pediatric Sonography certification (ARDMS-PS) must be obtained within 12 months of start date.

Responsibilities

• Execute diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with departmental policies and physician orders.
• Communicate with patient and family to support test execution.
• Assist in maintenance of equipment and order supplies.
• Provide documentation support (storage, retrieval, tracking, disposal of records, logs, and reports).
• Escalate issues per SOPs.
