Job summary

Ascension's Dell Children's Medical Center in Austin, TX is seeking a Therapeutic Specialist to provide gaming-based therapy for pediatric patients. You’ll engage children using interactive gaming and technology to support engagement, coping, and overall care experiences.

You will maintain and expand gaming systems across patient rooms, coordinate patient care, and develop programs that improve safety and care quality in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Licensed Counselor specializing in Chemical Dependency preferred.
• High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic interventions using gaming and technology to support pediatric patient engagement, coping, and overall care experiences.
• Maintain external-facing gaming technology across 130 patient rooms, including Xbox systems, gaming cards, VR equipment, and future iPad platforms.
• Develop and implement patient care programs, initiatives, and services that address clinical needs and promote quality improvement.
• Coordinate patient care and clinical program operations to improve outcomes, support safety, and strengthen interdisciplinary team collaboration.
