Job summary

Washington University in St. Louis is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join the Division of Pediatric Surgery at St. Louis Children’s Hospital.

The role combines inpatient and outpatient pediatric surgical care with emphasis on direct patient contact, procedures, wound and burn management, and PAWS service. You will staff outpatient clinics, evaluate new patients, provide postoperative follow-up, and coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team including surgeons, fellows, residents, and nurses.

Qualifications

• APN licensure required or obtainable within 3 months.
• BLS certification required (online certs not acceptable).
• No specific work experience required.
• Licensed to practice in MO or eligible for MO/IL.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to pediatric surgical patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Perform wound and burn procedures and coordinate PAWS care.
• Staff outpatient clinics, evaluate new patients and postoperative follow-up.
• Collaborate with surgical team and multidisciplinary staff.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses and recovery.
