We are a ten-person pediatric surgery group with academic affiliation that provides the full spectrum of pediatric surgical care to the Central Texas area. We are the pediatric and neonatal surgeons for two hospital systems currently treating children in the region. We provide pediatric surgical services at Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas, a Level I American College of Surgeons Verified Trauma Center and Level 1 Children's Surgery Verification hospital. This is a rapidly expanding 299 bed, free standing pediatric facility serving a large portion of Central Texas with a full complement of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists. The hospital provides neonatal intensive care, pediatric intensive care and ECMO services. Dell Children’s recently opened another hospital in the north part of Austin with 36 hospital beds as a Level III trauma center with pediatric surgical services where we provide care. In addition, we provide pediatric and neonatal surgical coverage for two HCA hospitals in the Austin area, including a level 4 NICU. We are looking for eager, young pediatric surgeons who want to be clinically busy, are interested in early administrative opportunities and leadership, surgical program development, and have an interest in academic pursuits.
We are closely aligned with the Dell Medical School at the University of Texas - Austin with opportunities for clinical research and teaching. We are a NSQIP and PHIS participating hospital with a dedication to excellent patient care. Dell Children’s has a pediatric residency program, and general surgery residents and medical students rotate on our service at both hospital systems. Our main office building is conveniently located adjacent to the Dell Children’s hospital. Some of our surgeons are co-founders of an Austin based international surgical outreach program that provides opportunities to get involved in surgical trips to developing nations.
