Job summary

PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Eugene, Oregon, is seeking a full-time Pediatric Surgeon to join the team. The physician will provide compassionate, high-quality care within training and credentialing scopes, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve exceptional outcomes for patients and families.

Required are MD/DO with fellowship in Pediatric Surgery, Oregon licensure or eligibility, and board certification/eligibility within five years.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an accredited fellowship program in Pediatric Surgery.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in Oregon; board certified/board eligible.

Responsibilities

• Practice medicine within licensure, training, and credentialing.

Position Summary

Essential Functions

• Practice medicine within the scope of licensure, training, and credentialing.
• Provide care consistent with established standards of care and quality guidelines.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care appropriate to the age and developmental needs of the patient.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice clinicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

• MD or DO from an accredited School of Medicine
• Completion of an accredited fellowship program in Pediatric Surgery

Credentials

• Licensed or eligible for licensure as a physician in the State of Oregon
• Board Certified or Board Eligible (must achieve certification within five years of training completion)
• DEA registration
• Current CPR certification

• Demonstrated expertise in the clinical management of pediatric surgical patients
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education
• Ability to meet department-specific training requirements
• Ability to work varied hours, including on-call and callback responsibilities
• Must not be excluded from participation in Medicare or Medicaid programs

Working Conditions

Physical Requirements

• Patient handling up to 35 lbs. without assistive devices
• Fine motor skills necessary to perform surgical and procedural duties
• Ability to perform CPR requiring 100–125 lbs. of force
• Frequent sitting, standing, and walking
• Occasional bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting

Environmental Conditions

• Exposure to biohazardous materials, body fluids, and airborne particles
• Hospital and clinical care environment

Mental & Visual Requirements

• Vision and hearing sufficient to perform essential job functions (corrective devices permitted)
• Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information effectively
