Job summary

Nemours Children’s Health in Wilmington, DE, is seeking a Casual Speech Pathologist (SLP) to cover inpatient programs on weekends. This role supports pediatric patients from birth to 17 with multiple diagnoses and participates in early intervention collaborations.

Requirements include a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology, DE licensure, CCC-SLP, and BLS within 6 months. Pediatric experience and affiliations are preferred for this role.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from ASHA-accredited university.
• 3–6 months of experience required; new graduates considered with educational experiences.
• State of Delaware SLP license required upon hire; compact licensure acceptable for primary licensure when eligible.
• ASHA CCC-SLP credential required upon hire.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Membership in professional specialty organizations (ASHA, state SLP) preferred.
• Clinical affiliation/work experience in pediatrics and pediatric feeding/swallowing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide speech-language pathology evaluation and therapy in inpatient settings.
• Complete timely documentation in accordance with policy, Joint Commission, and CARF standards.
• Educate and involve parents/caregivers; coordinate care with medical staff and outside agencies.
• Consult with other services and apply recommendations for equipment, home/school modifications, and transitional therapy.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and ongoing departmental education.
