Job summary

St. Mary's Healthcare System for Children seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist to assess and treat pediatric speech, language, and related disorders, adhering to ASHA guidelines. You will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and families, documenting progress and adjusting plans of care as needed.

The role emphasizes comprehensive evaluation, coordination of care, and ongoing education for staff and families to support communication development and quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in speech-language pathology and BLS certification required.
• Minimum of one year of experience in speech-language pathology and/or pediatric affiliation.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with children and families.

Responsibilities

• Provides services in speech pathology or audiology in accordance with ASHA guidelines.
• Assists physicians in assessing the patient's functioning and plan of care.
• Records and reports patient response to treatment and changes in condition.
• Recommends hearing tests by audiologist when necessary and checks hearing aids.
• Assesses communication, oral-motor integrity, cognitive status, and memory.
• Evaluates and revises the plan of care; initiates diagnostic, preventive, and rehabilitative procedures.
• Teaches, supervises and counsels patients, families, and other health care team members.
• Coordinates the total plan of care and attends patient care conferences.
• Develops and maintains individualized patient care progress records.
