Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, FL is seeking a Sonography Department Supervisor to manage daily operations and lead the sonography staff. The role includes hiring, evaluation, and training, with focus on maintaining high-quality patient care and workflow efficiency.

The position requires BLS and multiple RDMS/RCS/RDCS certifications, with an associate degree preferred and 3+ years of experience in sonography leadership. Day shifts in a full-time capacity are offered, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Fluent knowledge of anatomy, physiology, instrumentation, basic physics, patient care and ethics.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, co-workers and physicians.

Responsibilities

  • Manage sonography staff, including day-to-day operations, scheduling and coordination.
  • Hire, evaluate, terminate, educate and orient staff.
  • Measure and track performance levels and revise procedures to optimize patient care or workflow.
  • Serve as acting sonographer in addition to supervisory duties.
  • Organize and lead departmental meetings as needed.
  • Coordinate with other practices for patient load, vacations, etc.
  • Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational standards and regulations.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for staff.
  • Monitor and maintain equipment and supplies.

Job Description
