Job summary

Washington University in St. Louis is seeking a pediatric social worker in the Neurology department to plan, organize, and implement social work services for families of patients with complex care needs in an outpatient setting.

The role collaborates with clinic staff, assists with insurance and transportation needs, coordinates referrals to community resources, and prepares psychosocial reports. A Master’s in Social Work and active LMSW/LCSW licensure with BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work.
• Licensed LMSW or LCSW in Missouri and/or Illinois depending on location.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with department clinic staff on patient care management.
• Assist with insurance coverage, transportation, scheduling, and telephone follow-up.
• Facilitate referrals and connection to community resources for patients and families.
• Prepare psychosocial reports and maintain necessary records.
• Other clinical support tasks as needed.
