Job summary

Ochsner Health System is seeking a Respiratory Therapist Supervisor to oversee Respiratory Care staff, coordinate daily patient care, and ensure adherence to quality standards. The role involves collaboration with physicians and support clinicians, and participation in chart audits and safety programs.

The ideal candidate will possess a current state license, NBRC credentials, BLS/ACLS, and relevant experience in adult care.

Qualifications

• Must have a degree or diploma from an accredited Respiratory Care program or be grandfathered by state practice.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Respiratory Therapist or technician in adult care, with counseling responsibilities.
• Current Respiratory Therapist license in state of practice; NBRC CRT/RT certification; BLS; ACLS; PALS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and supports Respiratory Care staff; coordinates schedules and activities.
• Acts as liaison with Medical Staff and other departments; participates in chart audits and quality assurance.
• Ensures safe administration of medications and maintenance of Blood Gas analyzers and equipment.
• Delivers patient care adhering to age-specific guidelines and privacy requirements.
• Maintains compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
