Job summary

Children’s Minnesota seeks a Respiratory Therapist to perform specialized respiratory care under medical direction, adapting to assigned duties. The role requires advanced knowledge of cardiopulmonary physiology and drug therapies, with clear communication to the healthcare team and families.

The position is cross‑campus for Minneapolis and St. Paul, with opportunity to contribute to high standards of patient safety and family‑centered care in a pediatric setting.

Qualifications

• Licensed with the State of Minnesota as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) by The National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• RRT credential within 3 months of hire. RRT must be maintained in active status.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• PALS, NRP certified or within 6 months in the role.
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory care duties under the supervision of the medical director.
• Demonstrate advanced knowledge of cardiopulmonary physiology and related sciences.
• Understand drugs used in respiratory care procedures.
• Communicate procedures clearly to physicians, nurses, patients and families.
• Contribute to patient safety and family-centered care.
