Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a Research Nurse to develop, conduct, and support pediatric clinical research protocols. The role involves screening participants, coordinating visits, and ensuring regulatory compliance, with responsibilities spanning data management and study budgeting.

The ideal candidate brings pediatric clinical experience and BSN preferred, with strong nursing assessments, phlebotomy, and communication skills to support investigators and study teams.

Qualifications

• Two or more years pediatric clinical experience OR two or more years of clinical related experience
• BSN preferred but not required
• RN licensure in Georgia or multi-state via compact is expected
• Experience with clinical trials or research principles is desirable
• Epic enrollment/Clinical Trial Management System knowledge is a plus

Responsibilities

• Supports investigators in writing study protocols.
• Performs participant screening, enrollment, study activities, and communication.
• Coordinates study visits and procedures, including specimen acquisition, transport, documentation, and shipment.
• Maintains equipment and supply resources for research studies.
• Obtains informed consent following policies and regulatory requirements.
• Schedules study-specific visits with ancillary departments.
• Provides direct nursing care according to standards of practice.
• Completes phlebotomy for research specimens.
• Administers research medications under protocol.
• Performs nursing assessments and vital signs.
• Reviews adverse events and notifies Principal Investigator.
• Provides health education to participants.
• Completes nursing documentation and order entry.
• Completes IRB preparation, submission, and reporting.
• Maintains regulatory documents.
• Participates in sponsor communications and monitoring.
• Assists in data entry and data integrity.
• Supports budgeting and sponsor interactions.
• Engages in educational activities for study staff
