Job summary

MCHC is seeking a Registered Dental Assistant to join our Child and Adolescent Dentistry Department in Flint, MI. You will assist the dentist, manage radiographs, and maintain a child-friendly environment.

Responsibilities include instrument setup, sterilization, patient records, and collaboration with the dental team to ensure safe, efficient care for pediatric patients. A Michigan RDA license and CPR are required.

Qualifications

• Must have active RDA license in Michigan.
• CODA-accredited dental radiography course or substantially equivalent.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Two years post-education dental assisting experience preferred.
• Pediatric experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of EDR; Dentrix experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills: Word, Outlook, digital radiographs.
• Strong communication to interact with children and families.

Responsibilities

• Assist a dentist or hygienist chairside and pass instruments.
• Take/develop radiographs and maintain patient records.
• Sterilize instruments and maintain sterile field.
• Prepare operatories and restock supplies.
• Assist with behavior management for pediatric patients.
• Support anesthesia and sedation procedures as needed.
• Perform expanded duties per Michigan Board of Dentistry rules.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper documentation across departments.
