Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Diagnostic Specialist I to perform radiologic procedures, assist in coordinating patient flow in the x-ray area, and ensure supplies and equipment are maintained. The role uses PACS to process films, registers studies, and enters data to enable billing after completion of studies.

The position requires AMA-approved radiography training, NYS Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) credentials, and preferred 1 year of radiographic experience.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an AMA approved radiography program.
  • 1 year minimum of experience taking radiographs is preferred.
  • NYS Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).

Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic radiologic services by operating imaging equipment, positioning patients, calculating exposure factors, and assisting physicians with imaging procedures.
  • Maintains x-ray imaging and coping as requested and assists in the coordination of patient flow into and out of the x-ray area.
  • Performs clerical duties related to administrative activities of clinical x-ray area and ensures daily equipment maintenance records are kept.
  • Assists in scheduling vacation time and coverage to keep clinical activity smooth, pursues continuing education opportunities, and adheres to quality assurance and federal/state regulations.
