Job summary

PM Pediatric Care in Paramus, NJ is seeking a Radiologic Technologist (X-ray Tech) to support pediatric urgent care services. You will perform radiographic imaging, assist with patient care under physician supervision, and contribute to a collaborative care team across multiple offices.

Responsibilities include equipment QC, patient prep, and maintaining safety and HIPAA compliance. Travel to sister offices may be required to meet business needs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Radiologic Technologist program.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and clinic processes.
• Ability to stay calm and act with sound judgment in emergencies.
• Knowledge of digital imaging and electronic health records (eCW preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations
• Obtain medical history, patient vital signs, and intake
• Prepare patients for radiological procedures and take x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety
• Obtain quality diagnostic radiographs as requested by physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants
• Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
• Maintain and document daily quality control of radiology equipment at the start of shift
• Document repeat exposures and parent holding log with pocket dosimeter read
• Assist in radiology quality assurance program for radiography equipment
• Immediately report any equipment malfunctions to management team
• Helps patients in distress by promptly notifying medical staff of emergencies
• Perform collection of throat and nasal specimens and process samples for testing
• Assist in processing of laboratory testing of patient samples and routine QA testing
• Apply splints, ace wraps and DME devices on patients
• Provide patient with crutches and proper use education
• Be an integral part of the patient care team
• Keeps exam and x-ray room stocked with adequate supplies
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
• Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes to management team
• Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures
• Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Enhances health care practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and challenging requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
• Assisting patients with complaints and taking an active role in service recovery when needed
