Job summary

Requirements include graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program, ARRT registration (or registry within 6 months of hire), SC licensure, and current BLS.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
• 0–2 years of modality-specific work experience.
• Must be ARRT registered; must obtain registry within 6 months if not yet registered.
• Licensure from SC Radiation Quality Standards Association is required.
• Current BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs high-quality diagnostic radiographic examinations according to physician orders and protocols.
• Ensures diagnostic images are obtained accurately and efficiently for interpretation.
• Prepares and administers contrast agents as directed under physician supervision.
• Verifies patient identification, orders, and clinical information prior to procedures.
• Positions patients and operates radiographic equipment safely and effectively.
• Maintains patient safety, comfort, and privacy during examinations.
• Reviews images for quality and requests additional images when needed.
• Adheres to radiation safety practices and departmental standards.
• Documents examinations and patient information in electronic systems.
• Maintains equipment and work areas per infection prevention protocols.
