Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond, VA, seeks a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Division of Pulmonology within Pediatrics. This is a 1-year appointment with possible extension based on progress and training goals, ideal for a first-year fellow seeking additional pediatric pulmonary research experience.

Applicants will work on basic cell/molecular experiments, mouse models where applicable, and contribute to a growing research portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Plan, perform and analyze basic cell and molecular experiments using human cells for culture, for protein and RNA isolation, and for analyses; plan and perform mouse experiments to expose mice to treatment conditions and to isolate samples for analysis.
• Record all aspects of experiments, including protocol, reagents, methods and results; draft talks, abstracts, posters and manuscripts as a first author.
• Teach lab students basic lab techniques to assist on projects.
