Job description

The successful candidate will specialize in diagnosing, treating, and managing children with respiratory and lung-related disorders, including asthma, cystic fibrosis, chronic lung disease, and sleep-disordered breathing. This role involves working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide exceptional care to pediatric patients from infancy through adolescence, while also contributing to family education and clinical research.

Required Skills
  • Knowledge of Audiology principles and procedures.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills in view of frequent interaction with patients, staff, and visitors.

Required Experience

Qualifications:

  • Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a Pediatric Residency and a Pediatric Pulmonology Fellowship.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Pulmonology.
  • Valid medical license to practice in Texas/New Mexico.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with children, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Proficiency in performing and interpreting diagnostic procedures specific to pediatric respiratory care.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and evidence-based practice.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in managing pediatric sleep disorders or performing sleep studies.
  • Prior research experience or publications in pediatric pulmonology.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
