Job summary

Reid Health is seeking a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for outpatient pediatrics. The 40-hour week runs Monday-Thursday 9:30 am - 6:00 pm and Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, with weekend/holiday coverage on IP/ARU units. The PTA will assist PTs, educate families, and document progress in pediatric rehabilitation.

The PTA must hold Indiana licensure (and OH licensure if assigned to Ohio) and a current BLS certification. CAPTE-accredited program graduate preferred with supervision by a PT.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from CAPTE accredited PTA program.
• Indiana PTA licensure required; OH license if assigned to Ohio.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Implement prescribed PT plans by the physical therapist.
• Instruct patients in exercises and activities of daily living.
• Document treatment progress and maintain accurate medical records.
• Prepare and operate therapy equipment; ensure patient safety.
• Collaborate with PT and other health professionals for discharge planning.
• Provide patient/family education and home exercise instructions.
• Supervise PTA students as applicable.
• Assist in orientation and training of new staff.
