Job summary

Monterey County is seeking a Physical Therapist for the Physically Handicapped Children program (PT-PHC) in CCS Medical Therapy. The role delivers full PT services, conducts evaluations, and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to meet therapy goals and improve quality of life for children with disabilities.

Holders may receive a signing bonus up to $10,000. Minimum two years' experience preferred; bilingual English/Spanish desirable.

Qualifications

• Modern physical therapy principles and methods for children.
• Anatomy, physiology, neuro-muscular function, and kinesiology basics.
• Proper use and care of durable medical equipment, orthotics and prosthetics.

Responsibilities

• Provide PT treatments and home exercise instruction to children and caregivers.
• Maintain patient records and progress reports.
• Evaluate children from birth to age 21 with orthopedic or neuromuscular conditions.
• Plan PT treatment programs and set goals/objectives.
• Consult with physicians, teachers, parents and other staff to maximize therapy benefits.
• Assess need for DME/orthotics/prosthetics and instruct on use and care.
