Children's National Hospital in Washington, DC is seeking a Clinical Social Worker (LGSW/LICSW preferred) to provide psychiatric and psychosocial assessments for children and adolescents in the Emergency Department and Inpatient Psychiatry Unit, under supervision.

Under DSM-V criteria, assess risk, determine hospitalization needs, coordinate with psychiatry, and develop discharge plans with the treatment team, while engaging families and community resources.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Social Work (Required)
• LGSW required; LCSW/LICSW preferred
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to relate to diverse patient populations

Responsabilités

• Complete psychosocial assessments for children and adolescents in the ED and inpatient psychiatry unit.
• Assess suicidality/homicidality in collaboration with the attending physician.
• Develop and coordinate discharge plans with the treatment team and community resources.
• Educate staff about psychosocial issues affecting patient care.
• Document assessments clearly and promptly in the medical record.
