Job summary

State of Connecticut, Department of Children and Families (DCF) – John Dempsey Hospital, is recruiting qualified Registered Nurse candidates for seven nurse positions in Middletown, CT. New Nurse Licensure Compact rules may apply.

Each RN on second or third shift may receive a $3,000 recruitment/retention bonus after one year of service, prorated for part-time. Ideal applicants will have graduated from an accredited nursing program and hold or be eligible for CT RN licensure.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• CT Registered Nurse licensure is required or eligible.

Responsibilities

• Independently implements the nursing process with individuals including carrying out physician's orders regarding diet, medication and treatment.
• Performs assessments and monitors health status.
• Maintains records and ensures quality care through observation and evaluation.
• Reports on physiological and mental health status of individuals.
• Distributes and maintains records of medications and ensures their security.
• May participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning and in outpatient clinics.
