Job summary

UNC Health in Butner, NC seeks an Advanced Practice Provider to join the Youth Behavior Health Hospital team. The APP participates with the interdisciplinary pediatric psychiatry service, providing clinical care, education, leadership, and quality initiatives under physician supervision.

The role emphasizes independent practice within privileges and state licensure, with a focus on pediatric and adolescent populations.

Qualifications

Completion of an accredited graduate-level Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) program.
FNP preferred or PNP candidates.
Licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider (i.e., Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Certified Nurse Midwife) in North Carolina with DEA.
Board certification if required by the Department.

Responsibilities

Clinical: Obtain health history, perform physical assessment, interpret tests, develop differential diagnoses, and create treatment plans with appropriate pharmacological agents.
Education: educate patients and families about conditions, treatment, and follow-up; develop educational materials.
Leadership: provide instruction to clinicians and participate in outreach and system-improvement initiatives.
Professionalism: maintain respectful, timely interactions with patients and staff; manage workload with the team.
Quality/Research: engage in daily quality improvement and participate in protocol development to improve patient care.
