Job summary

Boston Brace International, Inc dba OP Specialty Bracing in Belleville, NJ is seeking a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist to join our pediatric-focused team. You will assess patients, design and fit orthotic and prosthetic devices, and collaborate with physicians to ensure optimal outcomes for children with orthopedic conditions.

The ideal candidate has an MSPO with a completed NCOPE residency and at least two years of related experience, plus strong patient education and fabrication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in orthotics/prosthetics or related field.
• MSPO degree required.
• Completion of NCOPE residency program.
• Two+ years related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Examine, interview, and measure patients to determine appliance needs.
• Fit, test, and evaluate devices on patients; adjust for fit, function, comfort.
• Instruct patients in the use and care of orthoses/prostheses.
• Design orthopedic devices per physicians' prescriptions and measurements.
• Make and modify plaster casts for device construction.
• Select materials and components based on device design.
• Confer with physicians to formulate specifications and prescriptions.
• Repair, rebuild, and modify orthopedic appliances.
• Construct and fabricate appliances or direct others constructing them.
• Performs all other duties as required.
