Job summary

First Day Homecare is seeking a part-time registered nurse or licensed practical nurse to provide private duty pediatric care in the Fort Wayne area, following school-aged child with a tracheostomy. Flexible scheduling and 1:1 patient interactions are available.

The role requires nursing licensure in the state, CPR certification, and a valid driver's license. You will report to the Clinical Supervisor and work within patient care plans and medical practitioner orders.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current license to practice as an RN or LPN in the state of operation.
• Current CPR certification.
• Demonstrated written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Licensed driver with automobile insured in accordance with state and/or Agency requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care as defined in the state Nurse Practice Act.
• Provides care in accordance with medical practitioner orders and the client's care plan.
• Maintains orders for clients and documents all changes in orders in the medical record following Agency procedures.
• The scope of clinical practice includes personal care services, monitoring and reporting findings, medication administration, client teaching, emergency intervention, and specialized pediatric services such as tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and tube feedings.
• Works collaboratively with other members of the client's care team.
• Promotes personal safety and a safe environment for clients and coworkers.
• Performs job in compliance with Agency policies, procedures, and applicable payor and accreditation standards.
• Participates in the coordination of care and attends Agency meetings as requested.
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.

Schedule / Expected Work Hours:

• Part time nurse needed to follow school aged child with tracheostomy in school
• 40-45 minutes near Fort Wayne area

Job Summary

Performs skilled nursing functions in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and

within the guidelines of professional standards and the Nurse Practice Act. All nursing services provided will be under the direction of medical practitioner (MD, DO, NP, PA, etc.) orders.
