Job summary

Nemours Children's Health in Vero Beach, FL is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for Primary Care to join our pediatric team full-time. The LPN serves as liaison between patients and providers and supports clinicians in delivering comprehensive, family-centered pediatric care.

Key duties include patient assessment, vital signs, specimen collection, immunizations, medication administration, chart review, and coordinating clinic flow.

Qualifications

• Specialized (1 year of training beyond high school) required.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience required.
• Valid State of Florida LPN License required.
• AHA BLS Certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs complete and accurate patient assessment or reassessment.
• Screens patients for appropriate information and instructs them in the collection of specimens.
• Provides education to the patient and/or parent/guardian in a manner that the recipient understands in order to contribute to positive patient care outcomes and patient satisfaction.
• Coordinates clinic flow and greets patients and families and prepares them for provider examination.
• Obtains vital signs and prepares room for examination.
• Administers immunizations and prescribed medications according to guidelines.
• Maintains medical records and ensures documentation is available for provider review.
• Performs in-office laboratory tests and enters results in patient chart.
• Participates in team huddles and supports overall clinic operations.
