Job summary

Advocate Lutheran General Hospital seeks a Part-Time Child Life Specialist in the Creative Arts Therapies and Education department. This 20-hour-per-week role offers Day Shift hours on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays with a pay range of $25.30–$37.95 per hour.

You will support patients and families through therapeutic play, prepare children for procedures, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to reduce stress and improve coping in a pediatric setting. ACLP certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Child Life/Child Development or related field.
• ACLP certification or active pursuit with internship completed.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate therapeutic play to support normal development in the hospital.
• Plan and implement activities for children and families.
• Prepare children for treatments and procedures and accompany them when appropriate.
• Advocate for pain management and child-friendly care, and educate staff.
