Job summary

EnvisionAge Incorporated in Beaverton, Oregon seeks a dedicated Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse to deliver age-specific nursing care for critically ill children. You will work under department supervision to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate treatments.

The role requires a valid RN license, BLS and PALS certifications, and at least one year of PICU experience in the last three years. Diploma in Nursing is mandatory, with ADN/BSN preferred; transcripts must be provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Diploma in Nursing from a state-approved program.
• Preferred: ADN or BSN from ACEN-accredited program.
• Transcript and diploma required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA.
• PALS certification renewed biennially.
• Minimum 1 year PICU experience within the last 3 years.
• Current RN license in any U.S. jurisdiction, active and unencumbered.
• Licensure must remain in good standing during contract employment.
• Specialty: contract nurses work under supervision of department leadership.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical duties in PICU: assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation.
• Provide intensive care for pediatric patients with complex conditions.
• Document activities, progress, and directives per procedures.
• Assist physicians during treatments and procedures; administer meds and care; manage admissions/discharges.
• Act as patient advocate; assess education needs and document plans.
• Manage hemodynamic monitoring, meds titration, and infection-risk procedures.
• Communicate patient status to charge nurse and physicians; verify orders; develop care plans.
• Administer medications within scope; research medications as needed.
• Respond to emergencies and operate defibrillator/EKG; may serve on Rapid Response teams.
• Direct patient care activities; supervise licensed practical nurses and support staff.
• Follow infection control protocols and participate in quality/risk management.
• Participate in discharge planning, care conferences, and staff meetings.
