Blue Bird Day is seeking a Pediatric Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to deliver therapy to children aged 2-7 years with ASD, ADHD, and related needs. The role emphasizes mobility, gross motor development, and functional independence in a preschool/kindergarten setting.

Based in Chicago, IL, the PTA will work Monday–Friday, 8 AM–4:30 PM, with a focus on evidence-based, play-focused approaches and close family communication within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current PTA credential to practice physical therapy.
• Experience with children and/or clients with special needs preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Providing individualized therapy and therapeutic rotations.

Pediatric Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) - Therapeutic Preschool and Kindergarten Program

1233 W. Adams St. Chicago, IL 60607 | Monday–Friday, 8 AM–4:30 PM - no evenings or weekends.

Compensation & Benefits

• Total Compensation Package: Valued between $69,000–$78,000.
• Annual Salary: $56,000-$62,000, based on experience and qualifications.

About the Role

As a Pediatric Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) at Blue Bird Day, you will provide physical therapy to children ages 2-7 years old with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, sensory processing disorder, and other neurodiverse needs. You'll foster each child's mobility, gross motor development, and functional independence growth.

Responsibilities

• Providing individualized therapy and therapeutic rotations
• Implementing therapeutic approaches such as DIR/Floortime, Developmental Treatment, Motor Skills Acquisition, and Intentional Relationship Model (IRM)
• Collaborating daily with occupational and speech therapists, as well as social workers
• Documenting progress and communicating with families to support continuity of care

Knowledge and Skills Required

• Required credentials to practice PT therapy
• Experience working with children and/or clients with special needs preferredCompetencies: proactive problem-solving, results-oriented, workmanship, resourceful, and clear communicator
