Responsibilities
  • Perform clinical assessment and identify patient needs.
  • Document, prepare, and complete patient Plan of Care. Track progress and revise as needed.
  • Meet mandatory continuing education requirements.
  • Plan and provide appropriate treatment for neuro‑muscular, neurological, and orthopedic disorders based on medical referral and therapy assessment.
  • Assist and instruct patients and families in transfer techniques appropriate to patient abilities. Instruct patients and families on the use of equipment, such as walkers, wheelchairs, canes, etc., in a safe manner. Utilize appropriate therapy equipment specific to patient diagnosis and needs.
  • Promote company mission and administrative policies to ensure the quality of care.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from an American Physical Therapy Association‑approved program.
  • Current Texas State License as a Physical Therapist.
  • Current Texas Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
  • One year of experience as a Physical Therapist in an acute care or rehabilitation setting. Pediatric experience required.
  • Effective interpersonal relations and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of durable medical equipment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel locally.
  • Able to work in a patient’s home in various conditions.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Proof of current CPR certification.
  • Ability to do heavy lifting, bending, pulling, pushing, and standing. Prolonged standing and walking are required.
  • Requires working under some stressful conditions to meet deadlines and patient needs and to meet patient/family individualized psychosocial needs.
