A leading healthcare provider seeks a Pediatric Physical Therapist Assistant I for a temporary 3-month position in Philadelphia. In this role, you will engage in patient evaluations, provide interventions, and maintain communication with healthcare teams. Ideal candidates will have an Associate degree and required licenses, along with pediatric and inpatient rehab experience.
Job Title: Pediatric Physical Therapist Assistant I
Pay Rate: $45 Per Hour
Location: Philadelphia, PA, 19104
Schedule: 3 Months (Possible Extensions).
Shift: Monday-Friday: 8 AM - 4:30 PM
Job Duties:
Reads and reviews the medical record to understand the patient’s diagnosis, precautions, goals, and treatment plans. Asks questions regarding unclear information.
• Provides direct interventions in individual or group sessions as planned, especially gait training, exercise, and modalities. Can treat patients in any setting in the hospital, including the ambulatory network.
• Evaluates the patient’s response to intervention and documents patient progress in the chart. Instructs patients and parents in home program, especially gait training and transfer.
• Informs the physical therapist of progress/problems with specific patients.
• Performs care coordination tasks associated with patient care, including communication with hospital and community providers, tracking of medical equipment, etc.
Academic
• Maintains current skills and knowledge by identifying own learning needs, both formally and informally, to practice a lifestyle of lifelong learning. Seeks opportunity for clinical growth and development within the department through mentorship.
• Pursues and achieves departmental competencies as assigned
• Attends in-services within the department and hospital as appropriate.
Administrative
• Maintains productivity and fiscal responsibility in the provision/utilization of services.
Actively participates in department planning meetings
Required Certifications & Licensure:
Pennsylvania State license as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
CPR Certification (within 90 days of hire)
Associate degree from an approved Physical Therapy Assistant Program.
Pediatric experience required
Inpatient rehab experience required
