About Triumph Pediatrics
Triumph Pediatrics is a community-based pediatric therapy practice in Washington, DC, serving children and families across the DC metropolitan area, including Maryland and Virginia. We specialize in providing individualized, one-on-one occupational therapy in the environments where children live, learn, and grow.
Our therapists are not just clinicians — they are partners in each family’s journey. We believe in building deep, lasting therapeutic relationships that drive meaningful outcomes. If you are a pediatric occupational therapist who values clinical excellence, independence, and the opportunity to truly make a difference in children’s lives, we want to hear from you.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an exceptional pediatric physical therapist to join our growing team as a 1099 independent contractor. This is a year-round, ongoing position — not a summer or temporary role. We are looking for a therapist who is committed to building a consistent caseload and growing alongside the families they serve.
As a Triumph therapist, you will:
- Provide individualized, one-on-one pediatric physical therapy sessions in home and community-based settings across Washington, DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and develop personalized treatment plans based on each child’s unique needs, strengths, and family goals
- Deliver evidence-based interventions addressing gross motor development, balance and coordination, gait training, strength and endurance, motor planning, and functional mobility
- Collaborate directly with families, caregivers, and other professionals (occupational therapists, speech therapists, educators, pediatricians, orthopedic specialists) to ensure coordinated, holistic care
- Maintain thorough, timely clinical documentation including evaluation reports, progress notes, and plans of care
- Manage your own schedule with autonomy and flexibility, while maintaining a consistent, reliable caseload of 15–20 sessions per week
Who You Are
You are not just looking for a job — you are looking for a clinical home where your expertise is valued, your independence is respected, and your impact is real. You thrive in one-on-one settings and believe that meaningful therapy happens through consistent, relationship-driven care.
Required Qualifications:
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program (or equivalent)
- Current, active physical therapy license in Washington, DC (Maryland and/or Virginia licensure preferred; willingness to obtain required)
- Successful completion of the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE)
- Minimum 1–2 years of clinical experience in pediatric physical therapy (home health, outpatient, or school-based)
- Reliable personal transportation and valid driver’s license for travel between client homes across the DC, MD, and VA service area
- Professional liability insurance (or willingness to obtain prior to start date)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active licensure in DC, Maryland, and Virginia (tri-state licensure)
- Experience with torticollis, toe walking, developmental coordination disorder, and orthopedic conditions in pediatric populations
- Experience working with children with cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays, genetic conditions, and neurological conditions
- Familiarity with pediatric outcome measures (GMFM, PDMS-2, Peabody)
- Bilingual skills (Spanish, Amharic, or French especially valued in our service area)
- Strong clinical reasoning and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Compensation & Contractor Support
We believe that exceptional therapists deserve exceptional support. Our compensation is designed to be among the most competitive in the DC metropolitan area for pediatric home health physical therapy.
Competitive Per-Visit Pay:
$75–$90 per visit, based on experience, credentials, and caseload commitment. With a caseload of 15–20 sessions per week, annual earnings range from approximately $58,500 to $93,600 — with the flexibility of independent contracting.
Contractor Support (What Sets Triumph Apart)
Unlike most independent contractor arrangements, Triumph invests in the success of the therapists who serve our families. The following support is available to contractors maintaining a minimum caseload of 12 visits per week:
- Mileage Reimbursement: Reimbursement for travel between client visits at the current IRS standard mileage rate, recognizing the real cost of providing home-based care across the metro area.
- Wellness Stipend: $250 per month to help offset your personal health insurance costs.
- Continuing Education Support: Annual support toward CEU courses, conferences, specialty training, and advanced certifications.
- Licensure Support: Coverage for maintaining your physical therapy licenses across DC, Maryland, and Virginia, so practicing across our full service area doesn’t come out of your pocket.
Additional Advantages:
- Schedule Autonomy: Build your own weekly schedule around your life. You control when and where you work within our service area.
- Manageable Caseloads: We believe in quality over quantity. Our therapists maintain caseloads that allow for thoughtful, effective treatment — not burnout.
- Clinical Mentorship & Collaboration: Access to a supportive team of pediatric therapists for consultation, case collaboration, and professional development.
- Administrative Support: Our team handles scheduling coordination, billing, and insurance so you can focus on what you do best — therapy.
- Growth Opportunities: As Triumph grows, so do the opportunities for leadership, specialty program development, and expanded roles within the practice.
