Job summary

Nemours Children's Health in Orlando, FL is seeking a Casual/PRN Pharmacy Technician to join our inpatient pharmacy team at Nemours Children's Hospital. The role involves preparing and delivering medications to patients and providing customer service to internal and external customers, under pharmacist supervision.

Schedule rotates days/evenings with overnight shifts and every-other weekend. Requires a High School Diploma and Florida Pharmacy Technician licensure within 6 months of hire;

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Minimum of six (6) months experience required. Pharmacy Internship experience or completion of a six month Pharmacy Technician training program may be considered as required work experience.
• Florida Pharmacy Technician licensure required within 6 months of hire. Florida Pharmacy Intern license may be accepted in lieu of Florida Pharmacy Technician License.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred.
• Hospital Pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates familiarity with duties of a Pharmacy Technician including unit dose cart fill, Pyxis functionality, IV preparation and related tasks.
• Performs aseptic compounding of parenteral admixtures and sterile dosage forms per safety protocols.
• Handles distribution tasks including preparation, dispensing records, and delivery of medications.
• Cross-trained to work in Retail or Inpatient Pharmacy as needed.
• Performs dosage calculations using metric units and ensures regulatory compliance.
• Operates equipment and technology to support pharmacy operations.
• Maintains punctual attendance and professional communication with internal/external customers.
