Job summary

Amsect in Miami seeks an experienced perfusionist to provide perfusion coverage for open heart procedures and standby for other procedures in a high-acuity setting. You will assist with ECMO start-up and CPS, ensure accurate perfusion records, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient safety and outcomes.

The role requires a perfusion degree, CPR/BLS certification, and board eligibility or CCP pursuit, with 2 years of perfusion experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited perfusion school
• CPR BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Eligible to sit for national boards or pursuing CCP
• 2 years of perfusion experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide perfusion coverage per perfusion policy & guidelines for all open heart procedures; standby for closed heart procedures and the Cardiac Cath Lab
• Available for ECMO start-up and troubleshooting and CPS
• Submit data for yearly departmental capital and operating budget to secure updated equipment
• Administer medications to patients per the perfusion policy
• Complete perfusion records and pre-bypass checklists during operative procedures
• Coordinate and participate in training of students, staff, and peers
• Collaborate with physicians and staff to adjust care with a multidisciplinary team
• Perform handoffs to ensure continuity of care and patient safety
