Job summary

Inova Health System's pathology department in Northern Virginia seeks an experienced pathologist with board certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology to join the clinical pathology service of the expanding system laboratory.

The ideal candidate will have Pediatric Pathology fellowship training and 3–5 years of experience, be eligible for Virginia licensure, and be prepared to sign out clinical pathology and surgical/hematopathology cases for both adult and pediatric patients.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Fellowship training in Pediatrics is required.
• Board Certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (AP/CP) by the American Board of Pathology or equivalent.
• Eligibility for Virginia medical licensure.
• Advanced certification in applicable modality within one year of training (per policy).
• Experience leading clinical pathology services and sign-out of clinical pathology and surgical/hematopathology cases when appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Participate in clinical issues, including consultation, quality management, and operational efficiency.
• Sign out clinical pathology and surgical/hematopathology cases for adult and pediatric populations.
• Lead a team and collaborate with Medical Director, administration, and technical personnel.
