Job summary

Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is hiring a full-time Paraprofessional/Instructional Assistant to support students in public schools, reinforce instruction, and assist teachers with materials and routines.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, First Aid/CPR certification, and prior public school experience; the role emphasizes patience, positive energy, and effective communication with students and families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• First Aid and CPR certificate required.
• Experience in a public school system is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain classroom policies.
• Tutor individual students, reinforcing instruction as directed by the teacher.
• Provide support to the teacher by distributing and collecting paper and supplies.
• Assist students with examples, emotional support, and general guidance.
• Monitor students as directed.
• Confer with teachers regarding programs and materials to meet student needs.
• Participate in meetings and in-service training programs as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
