Job summary

Intermountain Healthcare Inc. in Salt Lake City, Utah, seeks a Staff Palliative Care Chaplain to provide compassionate spiritual and emotional support to patients and families within the palliative care team.

You will conduct spiritual assessments, crisis intervention, and contribute to care planning, while collaborating with ICU clinicians, coordinating family meetings, and documenting care in the EMR. A strong endorsement and CT education are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited program.
• Completion of 2 CPE units meeting NACC/APC BCCi approval within 2 years.
• Completion of 4 CPE units meeting NACC/APC BCCi within 2 years.
• Two+ years of health care chaplaincy experience, including palliative care.
• Endorsement from an ecclesial body current within the last 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients, families, and visitors with spiritual and emotional needs during illness.
• Participate in ICU IDT rounds and support the ICU Early Intervention Model.
• Schedule and facilitate family meetings as needed.
• Complete advance directives and document care wishes in the EMR.
• Develop, implement, and document spiritual assessments and outcomes.
• Respond to crisis situations and participate in ethics consultations.
• Contribute to quality improvement and department initiatives.
