Inova Health System's Inova Children's Multispecialty seeks an Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Pediatric Ophthalmology team. This full-time day-shift role runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, at the Fairfax location.

The RN will perform clinic duties such as prior authorizations, medication refills, injections, and patient education, delivering safe, holistic care in a fast-paced outpatient setting and supporting team productivity.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's or ADN; BSN within 5 years if ADN.
• RN license in Virginia or eligible.
• BSN within 5 years if ADN is required.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association.
• 1 year RN experience preferred.
• Pediatrics/ophthalmology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs essential duties for clinic/non-acute operations: prior authorization, medication refills, in-basket, injections, patient education.
• Provides safe, holistic care in a physician practice or outpatient setting and educates patients and families.
• Incorporates data to improve care and supports practice improvements.
• Provides guidance to others as a resource, preceptor and mentor.
• Ensures efficiency in delivery of care; prioritizes care and maximizes team productivity.
• Makes independent clinical decisions based on education and experience.
