Job summary

Advocate Health's Park Ridge facility is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist to join the pediatric outpatient team. You will evaluate children, develop individualized plans, and guide families through home programs and community referrals.

Responsibilities include documenting care, coordinating with physicians, and ensuring safety, quality standards, and patient progress while participating in ongoing education and team planning within a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy and state licensure.
• Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of practice; BLS for Healthcare Providers.
• Experience with pediatrics in outpatient settings.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Intermediate computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Interprets physician referrals and evaluates patient abilities across physical, cognitive, and psychosocial domains.
• Plans, implements and documents individualized therapy plans and home programs.
• Fabricates assistive devices or splints and uses modalities safely.
• Manages patient discharge planning and family education.
• Maintains documentation, billing, scheduling and productivity targets.
• Ensures patient safety and infection control; collaborates with care team.
• Supervises OT assistants or extenders as applicable.
• Participates in performance improvement and ongoing professional development.
