Job summary

Shriners Children’s is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to provide direct and indirect patient care in the outpatient clinic setting. You will support physicians and nurses, perform routine labs, assist with procedures, and ensure accurate documentation in the EHR.

The role emphasizes patient education, medication administration under supervision, and efficient patient flow to enhance the overall clinic experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA certification.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and nurses with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Perform basic laboratory tests, specimen collection, processing, and documentation.
• Administer medications as directed by a physician.
• Provide patient education on medications, treatment plans, and home care.
• Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and coordinate referrals.
• Maintain accurate patient records including EHR documentation.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program

Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA)

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
