Job summary

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is seeking an Orthotic/Prosthetic Digital Technician to lead digital preparation, design, and model rectification for orthotic/prosthetic devices using CADCAM and 3‑D printing.

You will work with clinical staff to ensure correct device alignment and optimal patient outcomes. The role requires experience with CAD/CAM and 3D printing, a bachelor’s degree (engineering preferred), advanced computer skills, and CPR certification within 90 days

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (Preferably Engineering) required.
• Experience with CAD/CAM and 3D printing required.
• Advanced computer skills required.
• Certification in CPR (AHA BLS Heartsaver) within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Retrieves, manipulates, and prepares anatomical files for CADCAM/3-D printing.
• Applies appropriate force and alignment based on patient data (radiograph, clinical assessment).
• Sets targeted material thickness/relief to improve device stability and protect tissue.
• Develops repeatable digital design workflows for orthotics/prosthetics applications.
• Prepares CADCAM set-up and validates carve radius and final product.
• Reviews outcomes with clinician to optimize orthosis/prosthesis design.
