Job summary

CHOC is seeking an Orthoptist to diagnose and treat binocular and ocular motor dysfunctions, and to triage patients when ophthalmology is unavailable. The role includes organizing vision screenings in community schools and supporting pediatric eye care.

The ideal candidate will have at least two years of Orthoptist experience, a related bachelor's degree, and BLS certification, with knowledge of medical terminology and infection control. CHOC values teamwork and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years of experience as an Orthoptist.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and infection control techniques.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and treat patients with dysfunctions of binocularity and ocular motility.
• Examine patients to diagnose and treat abnormal eye movements and related vision issues.
• Triages patients in the absence of the ophthalmologist.
• Organize vision screening in community schools.
