Job summary

Shriners Children's in Shreveport is seeking a full-time pediatric orthopedic surgeon to join a high-volume, multi-disciplinary team. The role emphasizes neuromuscular care, hip preservation, and complex deformities, with opportunities to teach LSU residents and participate in research.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years post-fellowship experience, ABOS certification or eligibility, and the ability to obtain licensure and DEA in Louisiana.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an ACGME accredited residency in Orthopedic Surgery.
• Fellowship in Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery.
• Board certification or eligibility in Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS).
• Eligibility for active medical licensure in the state of practice and DEA.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical assessments and treatment planning for pediatric orthopedic conditions.
• Provide surgical and non-surgical management per current standards.
• Inpatient and outpatient care including preop/postop management.
• Conduct operative procedures per institutional protocols and safety standards.
• Collaborate with pediatricians, physiatry, PTs, anesthesiologists, and subspecialists.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR and participate in quality initiatives.
