Job summary

Shriners Children’s Twin Cities is seeking a part-time Physician Assistant to join our pediatric orthopedic team in an outpatient, clinic-based setting. You will independently manage orthopedic patients, including pre- and post-operative care, with duties such as casting and fracture care.

The position is 0.6 FTE (three days/week), 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., with no nights, weekends, or holidays. Competitive salary range and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Master of Physician Assistant Studies or equivalent from an accredited program.
• Current, unrestricted PA license in the state of practice.
• NCCPA certification and DEA eligibility.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers; PALS may be required based on assignment.
• Credentialing and privileging by the medical staff in accordance with bylaws.
• Strong pediatric assessment and clinical decision-making skills.
• Familiarity with pediatric specialty protocols and post-surgical care.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; proficient in documentation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive health assessments and physical exams for pediatric orthopedic patients.
• Formulate diagnoses and care plans with supervising physicians and care team.
• Provide pre/post-operative evaluations and outpatient management.
• Order/interpret imaging, labs, and tests as permitted.
• Assist in procedures and surgeries within licensure scope as needed.
• Prescribe medications and interventions per policy.
• Participate in multidisciplinary clinics and care conferences.
