Job summary

UNC Medical Center Children's OR is recruiting a Per Diem Surgical Tech. The unit operates across multiple surgical services and uses state-of-the-art equipment to support pediatric cases in North Carolina.

The role requires a high school diploma and graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program, plus one year of experience. Per diem schedule, onsite at Chapel Hill, with salary range $22.45–$32.27 hourly.

Qualifications

• One (1) year of experience as a Surgical Technician in a comparable environment.
• Requires high school diploma.
• Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program.

Responsibilities

• Assists surgical team during procedures with tools and supplies.
• Prepares OR according to UNC methods and maintains sterile technique.
• Keeps room clean, stocked and organized; supports instrument reprocessing.
• Documents sterilization outcomes and instrument counts as required by UNC policy.
• Participates in training, CQI projects and staff education.
