A leading academic institution is seeking a board-certified or eligible pediatric ophthalmologist to join their division. This full-time faculty position includes opportunities for research and teaching, with potential for tenure. The role involves building a clinical practice and supervising residents, emphasizing excellence and leadership in the field.
The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences (https://med.uth.edu/ophthalmology/), McGovern Medical School (https://med.uth.edu/), University of Texas Health Science Center Houston (https://www.uth.edu/) is seeking a board-certified or eligible clinician-scientist with fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology to join our pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus division. Experience with retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) is desirable but not essential. This is a full-time faculty position with opportunities and expectations for research and teaching. The position may include an Endowed Chair, supporting salary and research. Appointment level (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) will depend on experience.

Position Key Responsibilities:
This academic role involves research, teaching, and building a busy clinical practice at the Cizik Eye Clinic within the Texas Medical Center. Additional duties may include supervising residents and/or fellows at Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital, a key site for our educational programs.
This is an academic track with potential for tenure. The appointment level will be based on experience.
Qualifications:
The candidate must hold or be eligible for a Texas Medical License or a Texas Faculty Temporary License. Fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology and board eligibility or certification are required.
