Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is launching a dedicated Pediatric Oncology Unit at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital to serve the Greater Houston area.

The RN will work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver compassionate, high-quality pediatric oncology care, focusing on safety, education, and family-centered experiences. This role supports growth in a new unit and excellence in patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years pediatric and/or oncology nursing experience.
• BSN required or willingness to enroll in a BSN program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• PALS and APHON certification preferred, or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Delivers safe and appropriate care to pediatric patients within oncology services.
• Collaborates with physicians and healthcare team to deliver patient care using nursing process.
• Performs nursing assessments, assists with exams and treatments, educates patients/families, and maintains medical records.
• Coordinates treatment plans and develops/discharges/transfer plans; participates in program evaluation and quality improvements.
