Job summary

Nicklaus Childrenb16s Health System is seeking a Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Infusion Nurse to plan and deliver care using nursing processes, and to provide compassionate, family-centered treatment for immuno-compromised patients.

The role involves collaborating with the care team, ensuring evidence-based practice, and upholding Magnet-era quality standards. Supervision is provided by the Nursing Manager/Director, with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• BSN degree or currently enrolled in BSN program.
• RN licensure in Florida or eNLC.
• AHA BLS certification.
• AHA PALS within 1 year of hire.
• APHON pediatric chemotherapy and biotherapy provider course within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs a nursing assessment for all patients and communicates progress to providers.
• Completes admission history and discharge planning per policy, includes comprehensive history.
• Verifies orders, administers chemotherapy and supportive meds per policies, uses PPE, and handles hazardous drugs safely.
• Provides nursing care to immuno-compromised patients including central line monitoring and lab monitoring.
• Plans and documents the plan of care in collaboration with disciplines to ensure safe, efficient care.
• Delegates nursing tasks based on staff competency and maintains high-quality hand-offs.
• Provides patient/family education on health-related needs and resources.
