Job summary

Banner Health seeks a Clinical Pharmacist Specialist to support the Pediatric Oncology program at Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, AZ. You will develop oncology care plans with the care team and investigate drug processes to optimize patient outcomes.

The role requires experience in pediatric oncology or related oncology pharmacy practice and includes teaching duties, on-call 3rd weekend coverage, and leadership of pharmacy staff within a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Pharmacy and PGY1 residency completed.
• Board certification active (BCPS/BCOP) preferred.
• Arizona license and fingerprint clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Critically evaluates disease states and adjusts therapy to optimize patient outcomes.
• Provides detailed drug information to healthcare teams and patients.
• Reviews medication orders for accuracy considering age, weight, lab values, and diagnosis.
• Participates in quality improvement initiatives and drug use evaluations.
• Serves as mentor/preceptor to residents and pharmacy staff.
